The property's 151 acres are spread over clay-limestone soils that dominate the gentle hills of this property. The entire vineyard is dry farmed. With a base of red wine (Principal) and our use of gravity flow winemaking, we are able to produce a red wine that reflects the nature of the limestone-rich soils: with its expressive fruit, vibrant acidity, minerality and rich texture.

Harvest Note
The winter before the harvest of 2012 was an extremely dry cold winter. The spring was warmer for the region with low levels of rain at the beginning of season. In late September the region was affected by the tropical storm ‘Nadine’ bringing high levels of rainfall and stormy weather, which made this harvest very challenging, while producing excellent wines.
Tasting Note
Ruby with opaque center. Aromas of dark berries, cedar, leather, and minerals. Full-bodied, with firm tannins, but very polished. Vibrant acidity that remains throughout. Great length, mouth feel and a mineral finish.
Food Pairing
Slow roasted leg of lamb. The fattiness of the meat, with the vibrant acidity of the wine and fresh, polished fruit would be a perfect accompaniment. A beautiful seared steak or even a rich meat stew, like a beef bourginon.
