Montes Folly is an adventurous wine of exceptional quality. Its grapes are grown on the steepest, highest slopes of the vineyards in Apalta, Colchagua Valley. For that reason, they deliver more color, tannins, and flavors, making Montes Folly richly complex and powerful. Grapes are hand-selected and sorted on special selection tables. Montes Folly has been recognized as the best Syrah of Chile.

Harvest Note
The harvest followed a relatively dry winter with rains falling in concentrated bursts—around 11.8 inches at the Apalta estate and about 7.9 inches in Marchigüe. Careful water management sustained the vineyards through to harvest, preventing any stress on the vines. Budburst and fruit set occurred as expected, with no spring frost, ensuring high-quality clusters. After veraison, significant rain fell in the Central Region, requiring extensive vineyard work to quickly ventilate and dry the fruit. Prompt action allowed for the harvest of healthy, superior-quality grapes. Following February’s rains, March was notably cool and cloudy, delaying ripening and resulting in fruit with deeper color and more concentrated aromas at the start of harvest. The harvest began a few days later than in 2020 and extended for over three weeks, until mid-April, making it one of the freshest in recent years.
Tasting Note
The wine displays a deep red color with violet hues. Its aromas are intense and complex, enhanced by aging in both barrel and bottle. Notes of ripe black fruit, plum syrup, and jam are evident, blending harmoniously with aromas from the French oak barrels, such as caramel, toasted hazelnuts, nutmeg, and subtle hints of coffee. On the palate, the wine is very complex, with great body, refreshing acidity, and balance, all in harmony with its layered aromas.
Food Pairing
Highly recommended with red meats, lamb, veal and pork chops.
