This wine begins in the El Arcangel de Marchigüe estate vineyards. The decomposed granite soils left behind by glacial and colluvional activity mix with more recent deposits of clay and organic matter. Both the Syrah and the Grenache that go into this rosé are planted to a density of 13,727 plants per acre, trained to vertical shoot position, and produce average yields of up to 22,239 per acre. The plants are managed to maintain optimal foliage until harvest, which helps obtain fruit with an excellent ratio of sugar to acidity.
Harvest Note
The 2019 season began with a mild winter and moderate temperatures along with moderate rainfall. The summer was dry with normal, average temperatures on the cooler side. The growing conditions allowed for a slow ripening process allowing for more aromas to develop in the skins. With no rainfall during the harvest period, the grapes were harvested and vinified under ideal conditions.
Tasting Note
Brilliant pale coral in color. The nose is intense and expressive with aromas of fresh raspberries and tart cherries, along with hints of pineapple and apricot.The palate is balanced and crisp with natural acidity and a medium finish.

About the Grape
Syrah
Syrah has seductively dense, rich, chewy black berry aromas and flavors, with notes of tar, wood smoke, bacon, leather, chocolate, and sometimes violets. The tannins are firm yet elegant.
