The third release of this wine shows blackcurrants, mint, spearmint, iodine, graphite and mussel shells. Medium- to full-bodied with very integrated tannins that are fine and super polished and that go on for minutes. Reserved and focused with a silky texture. An upgrade to this wine with the addition of 2.5% cabernet franc and 2.5% petite verdot to the cabernet sauvignon. Drink after 2028 but impressive now.
There’s a cocoa bean and vanilla base to the concentrated blackberry core in this ripe version, which takes on decadent spiced pastry and dark chocolate qualities while unfurling around smooth tannins and a late push of kirsch.
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Muse is one of the most refined and delicate Cabernets from Maipo in this cold vintage. Sourced from Buin, it reaches a stylistic peak in this edition. Comprising 95% Cabernet, 2.5% Petit Verdot and 2.5% Cabernet Franc, it aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (70% new). This purplish wine unfolds enticing aromas of blackberry, cassis, cherry and ash, underscored by notes of licorice and cedar. Dry and faintly plush, with vibrant fine-grained tannins, the juicy flow and cushioned mouthfeel lead to a long and rewarding finish. This is a virtuous combination of technique and vintage
The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Muse hails from Buin in the Maipo Valley, from one of the warmest and driest vintages in years. Aged for up to 18 months in oak barrels, this garnet-hued wine presents ripe black fruit notes with a chutney-like character, accompanied by hints of tomato leaf and ash. Rich, firm and drying on the palate, it lingers with a juicy and clingy mouthfeel—a flavorful Cabernet showcasing the characteristics of the vintage.
