LIMITED AVAILABILITY: NYC Area Only

This is a new appellation since 2017, placed above Regional and below Villages, intended to offer a higher quality level for entry Burgundy. Sourcing is allowed from all Cote d'Or villages, in this case the majority of the fruit originates in Santenay, Marsannay, Monthelie, and Chorey-les-Beaune. The wine is vinified in the Jadot winery in Beaune, with a 3 week maceration period followed by 18 months of aging, half of the cuvee in oak and half in stainless steel.

Harvest Note
The 2020 vintage was quite early, as the growth cycle commenced with a warm period in late winter which was followed by a hot and dry summer. There were a few well-timed rains which moderated the drought conditions and relieved the vines. There were no diseases to contend with and the fruit arrived in a perfectly healthy state. Despite the heat alcohol levels are quite moderate, while acidity was retained. These are wines with lovely balance, a hint of tension, and which are capable of aging.
Tasting Note
Deeply colored red wine with typical Burgundian aromas of morello cherry and dark plum. Tannins are fine and elegant, and subtle earth and spice notes emerge on the long finish. This is a generous and versatile wine which can be enjoyed immediately or cellared for several years.
